As a result of the franchise business model, 23,351 local businesses provide 247,200 jobs to the Michigan economy and account for $19.5 billion of the state's economic output, and $7.2 billion of private sector payroll. Nationally, nearly 733,000 franchise businesses provide 7.6 million jobs, $674.3 billion of economic output and $404.6 billion of GDP, which is 2.5% of U.S GDP.*
