As a result of the franchise business model, 1,507 local businesses provide 11,300 jobs to the Vermont economy and account for $1.1 billion of the state's economic output, and $386 million of private sector payroll. Nationally, nearly 733,000 franchise businesses provide 7.6 million jobs, $674.3 billion of economic output and $404.6 billion of GDP, which is 2.5% of U.S GDP.*
